See and Be Seen Eyecare

Recently Dr. Ritesh Patel, Owner of See & Be Seen Eyecare, reached out to Liberty Village CARES to discuss a holiday food drive his team wanted to host. Since Dr. Patel and his team have taken the leadership to give back this Christmas, we decided to share a little more personal side of Ritesh with everyone!

1. Tell us something about yourself and why are you passionate about your business.

I seriously love what I do. Im very lucky that I knew what I wanted to do with my life. I wanted to help people see! Since the age of 10, I wanted to be an Optometrist. I was lucky enough to pursue this and combine my love for eyecare with my passion to help people and voila! See & Be Seen Eyecare was born!  (Here's a fun pic of Ritesh with his beautiful wife and duaghter Priya and Riri

2. Why did you decide to start a business specifically in Liberty Village?

My family and I love this area. We strongly believe in a tight knit community and feel that Liberty Village is a unique area in Toronto that has allowed people to live, work and play all within minutes of each other. We believe in Liberty Village so much that we live and have our business in the area

3.  Tell us a cool or interesting fact about your business most people are probably not aware of.

We have been fortunate to have been voted "Top 3 Rated Optometrists" in  all of Toronto for the past 3 years in a row. We have also won the "Patients Choice Award" for 2015 and 2016. We truly pride ourself on offering the best service and experience for our patients and are super proud of these accomplishments.
Our goal is to keep striving to be the best!

4. What have you learned about yourself about owning and operating your own business?

I am still learning to find balance. Balance of growing a small business, balance of having a wife and a young daughter and balance of taking care of my own health. Its a big balancing act that I am still trying to improve.

6. What are some of your favourite spots to eat and shop in Liberty Village?

Eat = Maurya Indian, Poke Bowl. Shopping = Naked Red

7. Why is it important for you to Give Back to the community?

Selfishly, I love helping people. It makes me feel good to help someone else. Fortunately, somethingthat brings me joy, is also better for the community! I sit on the board of Directors for my building and the Liberty Village Residents Association, so giving back to my community has always been part of who I am.

8.  Do you have other hobbies outside of work and when you go home?

Spending time with my wife and daughter is a huge priority. Raps, Raps, Raps!

10. What does Liberty Village CARES mean to you?

I love partnering with a businesses or people with a similar belief. Bettering the community around you is how we all grow and prosper. Liberty Village CARES is exactly that and we are proud to partner any way we can to push their endeavours forward.

Liberty Village CARES is honoured to have such a positive and inspiring partnership with See & Be Seen. We also want to congratulate Ritesh and his team for building a trusting and thriving business since their opening in Liberty Village back in October 2013.  Please remember to visit their store (located at Unit #136 of Liberty Market at 171 East Liberty, directly West of Brazen Head), between now and December 22nd to drop off non-perishable food items.  We have also partnered up with Metro, who will match See & Be Seen's total the number of donations!

Thanks again Dr. Ritesh Patel for being such a rock star acommunity member and business partner with Liberty Village CARES.
